It has been announced that on September 27, 2019, Dr. Suguru Yamaguchi, one of the founding members and the first Board Chairman of JPCERT/CC, entered the Internet Hall of Fame as an inductee.
The Internet Hall of Fame was launched by an international NPO Internet Society (ISOC)(*1)in 2012 to recognize and celebrate an individual who made an extraordinary contribution to the development of the Internet. 103 individuals including 5 Japanese people have been commended before, and Suguru and 10 other new inductees were selected this year.
His leadership and contributions to cyber security research and education, to FIRST, the international CSIRT community, to relationship building among CSIRTs in Asia and Africa, and to WIDE Project (*2) and AI3 (*3) were highly evaluated.
